The Age of Digital Art
Don't listen to traditionalists. Some of the most amazing art ever created came out of the 21st century through the miracle technology that is digital art. While nothing will ever rival the unique and old-fashioned feel of traditional art, digital art is beginning to feel like it is quickly becoming traditional art among the people of today. There are several different small programs that you can use on your iPad or tablet as well as several different styluses and stylus accessories that you can add to make digital art as effectively as painting 10 pictures at once! Whether it be your traditional art or digital art, we are going to show you the basic things that will need to start making your art and sharing it for the world to see.
Procreate is a digital art app that will allow users to paint in 4k! Like photoshop and illustrator, users can use several different layers of drawings and textures that have been drawn. Procreate also functions as a great coloring app. The functionality of this app is endless! Users are able to create, post, and upload their own brushes and textures to a website where users can then download these brushes and add them to their app. Making art has never been more immersive than it is now. Procreate also works phenomenal with your Apple Pencil if you were to have an iPad Pro. Styluses can be calibrated to have certain sensitivities with any stylus you use. The apple pencil however already has its own pressure sensitivities added into it. If you press down hard, you get a dark and thick mark. If you press down softly, you will get a light and thin mark just like you would in real life. Another really cool feature of this app is the time-lapse feature. When you are finished working on a project, you can tell Procreate to export a .mp4 file to your library where you can view a timelapse of your work from start to finish. Below are some pictures of art you can make with this app as well as one time-lapse video.

Another very commonly used application for drawing is Adobe illustrator. This app works perfectly with any tablet device you may have made specifically for drawing. Adobe illustrator also syncs with the rest of your material in the adobe creative cloud. Different files can be imported in between the different programs in the adobe creative cloud.
The Drawing Tablet:
Many of you either already have a computer and don't want to spend the money on an actual tablet like an iPad or a Tab. These are drawing tablets which you can connect to your computer and use it as a drawing device. It may take a little practice and getting used to, but after you pick up the skill, you can get very very creative with your art skills.
DeviantArt
Many different artists take their inspiration from others. Many different artists have participated in trends regarding a specific drawing or object. DeviantArt is the home for these kinds of trends and often times brings out some of the most unique digital art ever created. If you are looking for a great start to your art, this is a great place to begin.
